Vox Cordis Chorus
The Vox Cordis Chorus, which started in July 2011, comprises members from four different choirs who serve at the weekly Indonesian masses across Singapore under KKIS (Indonesian Catholic Community in Singapore). These masses are held at OLPS (1st week) and the churches of St Bernadette (2nd and 4th week), St Mary of the Angels (3rd week) and Blessed Sacrament (5th week when applicable).
Following a successful debut Christmas concert in January 2012 at St Teresa’s Church, the Vox Cordis Chorus is staging their second concert based on Pepper Choplin’s “Once Upon A Tree”, this time to celebrate Easter, at OLPS on April 13, 2013. This beautiful and magnificent work was chosen as it tells of the amazing story of Our Lord’s Passion based on the Gospel of St Luke. Proceeds from the concert will go to the Roslin Orphanage in West Timor, Indonesia, an organization committed to the development and education of underprivileged children .
Through these concerts, the Vox Cordis Chorus aspires to bring the spirit of the liturgical season to the community and in the process, strengthen the bond among choir members as well as their vocal skills. These concerts also provide members with the experience of performing for an audience.
Currently about 40-strong, the Vox Cordis Chorus hopes more talent will join them, not only for their concerts but to serve with KKIS for the Indonesian masses across Singapore.
