Funeral Ministry

Funeral Ministry is a ministry consisting of lay bereavement ministers appointed by the Church to provide bereaved families with practical guidance on the Funeral Mass and rites. Funeral ministers are required to be in attendance on the day of the funeral – accompanying the body of the deceased to Church, assisting the Priest at the Funeral Mass and thereafter to conduct the Rite of Committal at the crematorium or cemetery as so directed by the priest.

Frequency of Meetings: Annually the Parish Priest meets up with the ministers.
