Choir of El Shaddai

El-Shaddai (Lord, God Almigthy) choir sings for the Sunday 1030 am mass.

El-Shaddai choir started around 1980 and was called 10 am choir. Audrey Tan Ortega was organist and heading the choir since then. The choir started with a few close friends who were also involved in the Young Adults Movement (a Youth organisation of OLPS church at that time). Since then we have grown to 40 plus strong and with the addition of violinists, a drummer, a couple of percussionists and a saxophonist.

Our purpose: To foster active participation of the faithful through singing of hymns that are in keeping with the parts of the Mass , with the feast, or with the liturgical season.

Besides singing, we also grow in our faith through bible sharing and retreats.

Last Christmas (Dec 2011), we went around singing at our parishioners houses to raise funds for our Christmas project . With the money collected we went around caroling and bringing gifts to the underprivileged.

Half of our members have been in the choir for 20 years or more, thus, we have become more like a family. Even our children have grown up together in the choir to become active choir members themselves.
