Children's Liturgy of the Word (CLW)

The Children's Liturgy of the Word (CLW) ministry was formed in 2012 by a group of facilitators out of a desire to impart God's Word to children aged 5-12.

What is CLW?

It is exactly what it says - the Liturgy of the Word meant for children.

Children are taken out of the main Eucharistic celebration and a separate liturgy is celebrated with them at a level they can relate to.

Children rapt in attention and participation.

Our Mission Statement

To share God's Word with children and help them experience Christ in their lives.

Our Vision

That more and more children will get to:

* know Christ
* understand His Word
* deepen their relationship with Him
* share His love with others

Our approach

Various interactive approaches are employed to keep the children engaged in participation and encourage them to reflect and offer their thoughts on the gospel readings. These include narration, storytelling, skits, role play, video clips as well as simple writing activities.

Words of love expressed in art & craft

When it is conducted

2nd and 4th Sundays, during the 10.30am and 12.30pm masses.

Glimpses of our sessions

"I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats of this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh. " (John 6:51)

"The kingdom of God is like treasure hidden in a field. ..Again the kingdom of God is like a merchant in search of fine pearls. .." (Matt 13:44-45)

"If anyone wants to become my followers let them deny themselves, take up the cross and follow me." (Matt 16:24)

Our facilitators

From a small base of <10, the number of facilitators has now more than doubled. Thank God for sending more helpers to our vineyard.

However, we still need as many helpers as we can get, in order to expand our liturgy sessions to more than once a month.

So, if you love children and are keen to journey a little with them in their spiritual growth, do find us!
